My first visit with a new Fertility Specialist

I met Dr.expert last weekend. I told her my entire case history. Right from my hormonal levels, my surgeries I had in the past , my present health condition etc. She asked me , what would I want to do next . I always wanted her to give the decision. So I asked her back on her thoughts. She said, ” You have only 2 choices IUI or IVF ” In IUI the success percentage is too less. And your AMH is on the lower side. Doctor asked me to take DHEA supplements . Sent me for a scan to check the AFC. A simple cyst was visible. Hence I am being put into pills to get rid of the cyst. After that , I will undergo one more scan to check the uterus. Will keep you posted on its updates. I also plan to talk to Dr.Expert the same day , and ask her thoughts for an IUI or IVF in the next cycle.

What I have learnt today is about karyotyping

Last week, I happened to read some of the Baby Center posts, where ladies mentioned about test results of Karyotyping.

I dint know what it is. Today I am aware of it, when I happened to explore about aneuploidy.

As per my awareness,

Karyotyping is a genetic analysis test aimed at assessing all the embryos. Most of the IVF failures and miscarriages , around 60-70% of them , can happen because of abnormal embryo karyotype (aneuploidy). Which is not in our hands . Embryo aneuploidy is a reason for  “implantation dysfunction”.

Aneuploidy is common in women of all age group. But the percentage of eggs, with aneuploidy increases with age.

This is a criticial factor, for aged women and those with low AMH , or DOR .

The lesser the AMH , the less is the number of eggs and hence the lower pregnancy success rate, because of aneuploidy

My TTC journey

Thought of creating my first post regarding my trying to conceive journey .

Its been 4 years I am ttc.

2010 was when I got married. 2010-2011 Tried naturally to conceive , but in vain .

2011 I met with an accident .

2012 -2013 , was when i tried to conceive with few induction cycles , but no success.

2014 april was my IUI , which was a positive one. But let to chemical pregnancy , an unexpected birthday gift 😦 to my hubby. I felt so devastated after that , but I also got a hope that yes I can conceive , But I could not come out of the trauma immediately.

I stopped going to my RE , its been one year, that I have stopped my trying to conceive journey.

I am just following all my BC friends, and listening their success stories.

I plan to meet my RE next month , waiting for AF to occur .
